At least Sooty has a nice bed to hide under. Symi cats have to find a safe place where they can.....

Thanks for all the lovely photos Allan looking forward to Wednesday 05:55 flight from Manchester  but it will be worth it when we get there
Yes it is quiet on the forum, needs the link to the Symi Visitor page I don't go to the page as often as I used to when the link was there.
I'll try and post more

Sue O
You may recall the time when the horror movie was being made.I was the one sitting at Yiannis Rainbow bar with the blood soaked shirt and my pint of Mythos on the table.

Ah, yes, the dreaded crack of dawn flights

I don't miss those one tiny bit since moving to weekend afternoon flights. The disadvantage of course is that it means a night on Rhodes on the way out and a very late arrival on the way back. At least you'll arrive on Symi the day you travel Sue and get back home at a sensible hour.

I'll be about 10 days behind you. Don't drink all the Mythos before I arrive!

Right Joe LT - no problem in recognising you then - I'll look out for the bloodstains. Seeing as nearly everyone has a pint of Mythos in front of them at the Rainbow that won't be so much help ;)

I'm with you there Allan. Our Leeds flight departs at 9am which is quite early enough for us and, as I've mentioned before, we've opted to leave the island a day early rather than drag ourselves out of bed to catch the 6.30am ferry. Hey Ho! none of us are as young as we used to be and, for us, the need for comfort is definitely starting to win out over adventure! Won't stop us visiting Symi one way or another though.

Glad I'm not going on the 0555 flight from Manchester this year. After catching the late night train from Leeds and spending several hours at Manchester waiting for check in to open I was falling asleep by the time the ferry came to take us to Symi lol. Of course a couple of glasses of wine in the Sunrise soon perked me up. Not sure how the afternoon flight will work out and it does mean I won't arrive on Symi until Thursday but we will see.

The LBA flight times are much better and more convenient but unfortunately it worked out about £200 dearer than flying from Manchester

Happy holidays to all of you flying out soon :D

I normally sit on the set next to that one on the left and yani sits in that one, spent many a happy hour (11am - 1pm or 12noon - 2pm) there over the years.

Tre Moana cruise ship. Just 88 "select guests" from a mere $8000 for seven nights including a visit to Symi.

"When I walked up the Vigla" eh? Walked!! Show off :P
I have a nice picture somewhere taken from the minibus as it drove round the Vigla. I felt exhausted just looking out of the window!

I agree, it's not the same level of excitement. It was even more exciting back in the olden days when I had to take a trip into town to collect the tickets from the travel agents. Printing out the boarding passes a few weeks before departure just isn't the same even if it does mean I won't be queueing at checkin.

But the excitement of sitting here waiting for the taxi to arrive, as I am now, is still the same :D
