Symi Chat

Observant chat page users may have noticed that the Pacho's picture at the top of the page was sporting a Greek flag on Independence Day.

The system can now change the picture automatically for special events and I've already added the most obvious national days. It's a pity we've missed St. Patrick's day - I could have had fun with that image!

If anyone has ideas for suitable days to celebrate with a change of picture along with suggestions for what the picture might be just let me know (by PM or email if you want it to be a surprise!).

When are Ouzo and Mythos days?

ANZAC day on the 25th April would be the next I should think.

Fair call, David, I'm not too au fait with your celebratory dates.

"IF", Mazie "if" you lived on Symi.....bearing in mind you would probably be bored out of your skull for most of the year. Unless you could wrangle a job at the SV.

I suspect whether I'd get bored or not would much depend on if I only chose to sit on my ass all day and do nothing or roll up my sleeves and muck in.

Only way I could sustain a life there would be to work, so I guess that would cure the potential boredom factor. Other option of course is to keep doing the lottery in the hope of a big win ...in which case perhaps I could also tempt at least one of my sons to join me out there .

Oh dear, St George's Day falls in the middle of Big Week again so the Greek Georges will have to do their celebrating on Bright Monday, the day after Easter Sunday.

Maziemoo, if you tempted one of your sons to go with you, he could do the hard work whilst you became a lady of leisure!!

Perhaps we could even do a whip round and get you a tambourine, give you the chance to join a band and then you would have something to do in the evenings!!

Mmmmm.....I always fancied becoming a groupie...can't possibly think who I might pursue though ops: ops: ..suggestions on a postcard please....
