Webcam again

Since quite a number of days I always get the same picture (Lenovo laptop, VISTA) taken at noon. Am I the only one? Any suggestion how to solve the problem?

No it's not just you, the webcam is faulty.

A new one is in the post and hopefully should arrive soon.

That's good news Alan. It will be nice to see a bit more 'action' in the harbour ;)

Yes, the people on that yacht stuck in the middle of the harbour must be running out of food and water by now.

The camera arrived! Adriana has propped it on the balcony for the time being (I haven't made a mounting thingie yet) and after a bit of geeky fiddling it is showing on the website again.

Enjoy the view!

Still not working for me, I still have the boat in the middle of the harbour although the time and date are correct.

Try refreshing the page Jean. Hold down the control key and press f5. See if that helps.

Glad it's working for you.

Incidentally, in case people hadn't noticed, the image I posted above is 'live' so should show the most recent view. It doesn't refresh automatically though.

Yes I was very impressed when I realised 'your picture' was identical to what I'd just been viewing through the webcam. Clever stuff ;)

I don't know if it just our imagination but the new webcam seems to provide much higher definition especially the night shot we just viewed - good work Allan.

The definition should be the same. In fact there is a bug in the camera software that means the quality of the image isn't as good as it should be. I have new software to install when I'm there in September that should improve things.

But I do know what you mean about the night time shots, they really are much better than the old camera.

Hi Allan, don't think it's my imagination, I seem to have been getting the same picture for about the past two weeks, I don't seem to be getting the live updating, any ideas?

It is updating OK Maz. The clock on the picture works now so you should be able to check that to see if you are seeing the most recent one.

Also, the picture I posted in this thread back on June 27th is still live so that should be the most recent one too.

If you see the wrong date on the picture try reloading the page by holding down Control and pressing f5 to see if that fixes it.

must be a problem my end as no clock update showing and I still have a picture with a small boat sitting right in the middle of the harbour, doubt someone would have been fool hardy enough to do that for more than a short length of time....mystified.
