Ferries from Datca?

Postby psaffy » 22 Jun 2006, 19:01

Hi everybody,

My husband and I are going to take a vacation to Datca (Turkey)in July. I was wondering if anyone knows if there are ferries from Datca to Symi? The Turkish Embassy page says there are and to check the Turkish Maritime website, but that site is useless. We would need to make it a daytrip because my husband is Turkish and his Schengen visa ran out and we don't really want to go through the hassle of getting another one right now (apparently he can go on daytrips to Greece without needing a visa). Any info would be very much appreciated! :) Symi looks gorgeous and we would love to go there.

Thanks a lot!

Ferries from Datca?

Judging by the number of gulets that come across each day from Datca at least some of them must be doing day trips rather than over night visits. I suggest that when you get to Datca you go down to the harbour and see who is advertising what. Knidos Tours is the name of one Turkish agency that springs to mind but there are bound to be others.
