There is no system for absentee or proxy voting in Greece so you have to physically come to Symi to cast your vote.

Are the council elections comming up soon ,i think its November but while i was there my uncle was telling me that the current mayor was doing a good job and that he has done lots around the island ,having said that perhaps they should have elections more often ,because the amount of work that gets done around elction time is incredible ,footpaths,roads,planting of trees cleaning of beaches etc.

The other woman candidate is Claire Ackland-Zouroudis. You can read about both women in the September issue of the Symi Visitor.

The election takes place in mid-October.
