Just put up a few photos on my diary page. :D

Mike will be putting up some more on the Out and About page later - apparently his laptop has turned up its toes

We didn't have these problems in the good old days when a wireless had wires

We didn't need pictures, Adriana, we were too busy admiring the mahogany veneer :) , the lid that slowly closed of it's own accord :) and the fact that it could play 8 records automatically. - And that was without listening to "Round the Horne" and "Forces Favourites" on a Sunday :D

They were still playing excerpts from 'Round the Horne' on the SABC when I left in 89...

And all of us in the Classics Department seminar room could recite the Dead Parrot sketch...

Ah, what innocent fun we used to have :P

Innocent was the word, Adriana. I probably didn't understand half the double-entendres on "Round the Horne". And when television came along, my mother could hit the "Off" button before the word "sex" had even appeared on the actor's lips! :D

In films like 'Mrs Miniver' married couples slept in twin beds...and wore pyjamas/nightgowns

Speaking from experience, I think the pyjamas were more to do with the fact that there was no central heating, and no heating at all in the bedroom unless you were ill. :o - Bed time in the north east was rather chilly :(
