Looking for budget room(2pax), arriving sunday 7th. Last time on Symi local people announced accommodation as ferry arrived. Will they still do?

There will be people meeting the boat but they will be collecting pre-booked guests. It's unlikely you will find property owners touting for business as happens on other Greek islands.

There's nothing to stop you asking anyone you see holding a sign as you get off the boat of course. If they don't have a vacancy (September is getting to be a popular month) they could suggest something.

Probably the one that leaves Rhodes at 19:00 as I've heard that the slowboat is sick....

There's an 8.30 am and a 9.30 am fast boat on a Sunday as well as the slow service, if you want to get to Symi before nightfall..

Alphabet, you could try Frank at Taxiarchis Apartments, he may have a room available. He meets most of the ferries but to be sure it would be best to contact him at taxiarh@otenet.gr or call him on 22460 72012 before you get to Symi.
