Just put up a few pictures on my diary page for you.

As there were more dignitaries than usual attending this time round the place was swarming with television crews and cameramen.

Impressive line-up. Was Manos trying to get them all to eat at the Fish Restaurant?. Sadly, one person missing this year was Bert Ralph. Now that Bert is no longer with us, I wonder if there are any British Veterans left?

They are, sadly - as Father Time and The Grim Reaper take their dues - getting thinner on the ground. I refer you to the anecdote of mine about the "veteran" on Kos going back four years or so ........ a gentleman - and I sincerely hope he's still making the trip because it was a pleasure to spend time in his company. It showed a touch of humanity from a period of extreme violence.
As the eye-witnesses disappear, so does the reality and the proper history ( told by the ones who were there rather than a dry academic version gleaned from other peoples' memories)
