My daughter and I will be visiting on 30th July for the first time. Since logging on to Symi Visitor we have become big fans of Lugless Douglas. Where can we find him? Our holiday will not be complete with out spotting him!

Hi Caz and welcome

Lugless is easy to find.... First get yourself to the Rainbow bar in Chorio. He was last spotted ambling along the Old Road by the School but could be anywhere. Anywhere if food is around, that is.

And any excuse to visit the Rainbow is OK with me.

thanks allan. I have just been reading an article about mass poisoning/ disease that has effected Symi cats this year. Another famous resident Wee-J (not sure of the spelling) was one of the victims. I hope Lugless Douglass is okay!

The poisonings were all on the other side of the harbour, along with feline enteritis. Not a good winter for the Symi cats.

It's nice to hear that another of the local animal characters is able to fly the flag for Symi in the absence of lovely Lakis  !

It would be nice if Barbie the harbours princess could get some attention (and shelter) too!

Believe it or not, that beautiful dog did have an owner.

If you venture to Sesklia Island on a day boat trip(which you must) then look out for Natasha the Donk and her foal:

She loves picnics and white wine.

Caz

As threatened, a few more Lugless snaps for you and your daughter.

Let me know if you want bigger versions of any of them.

You even found the video of Lugless Dougls by mistake. I came across that one as well. That pussycat is a bit of a showoff, isn't he?

The "narrower lane" initially has houses on both sides: at the point where these houses end there is actually a fork. 'Lugless Douglas' is usually to be found on the right-hand branch (which heads downhill, as opposed to the left-hand branch, which heads up). You'll see the Villa George complex ahead: it's actually three contiguous buildings one above the other. Before you get to the top one, look for a zig-zag branch of the path leading you fairly steeply down the slope. 'Lugless Douglas' is frequently to be found on or around these zig-zags. (I've always assumed that he has someone, either an 'owner' or somebody who regularly feeds him :?: , in one of the houses close by).
