Hi, does anyone know if the Tilos Sea Star is running? (Rhodes - Tilos and reverse)
I've looked on the website and it doesn't show up on there.
We'll be coming to Symi from Tilos can't wait!

Thanks, Richard and Kon, we get to Rhodes about 9.15pm on the 17th and are going to Tilos or Nisyros, but there isn't a ferry for either until Friday the 19th at 1pm. Don't really want to spend an extra day in Rhodes, but would rather visit Symi after those, or we just won't leave!

According to the most reliable website Ive found for shedules: http://www.gtp.gr/ the Proteus runs to Tilos on the 17th of September. Leaving Rhodes at noon.
This should give you time to get from Diagoras to the port and have a light breakfast in the old town.
The Sea Star might have ended her season as she is of the calm weather clasification...

The Seastar is still running and it pops into Symi occasionally. I saw it on the webcams a couple of times last week.

If you are getting to Rhodes at 9.15pm you'll presumably be looking for a morning crossing the following day.

The Seastar leaves Mandraki at 09.00 on the 18th, which should be ideal. Tilos travel (Kon's link, above) are very helpful for last minute information. As are Helen and Paul at

Have a great time Ange and don't forget to take lots of pictures.

Edit:

The Seastar's turned up in Symi again today :-

Dodecanese Seaways haven't yet posted timetable for 18 Sept but on Thursdays up until now the Dodecanse Express has left Rhodes 0830 arriving Symi 0925 and Kos 1100. The Panagia Spiliani leaves Kos for Nisyros at 1500ish. Check -

Alternatively the Tilos Sea Star leaves Rhodes on Thursday 18 Sept at 0900 and the Blue Star Diagoras leaves Tilos for Nisyros on Friday 19 Sept at 1510. Check -

Open seas is better than GTP -

Thanks Barry, great websites, I'd not seen the Open Seas one before. I've just checked but as you said the 18th September isn't up yet. I'll keep checking.

I've e-mailed Dodecanese Seaways in English and in Greek but had no reply. I've also e-mailed a Kos-based Dutch travel company Nostalgia Travel ( ) who can't even get the information from Dod Seaways on the phone but will let me know if they get anything. We are trying to travel to Nisyros from Rhodes on 18 Sept so need that information. Failing that we prefer to overnight on Tilos rather than Rhodes. Will post any info I get.

Barry,
Looks like you have the same plans as us! Will you PM me with any further information you find? Luckily this year we haven't booked our flight with XL like we usually do.
We've booked overnight in Rhodes for the 17th and possibly the 18th as we want to go to Nisyros then onto Tilos, then Symi. We would much rather go to Nisyros on the 18th even if it means going via Kos. I'm checking those ferry timetables daily but at the minute it looks like its The Diagoras on Friday at 1pm.
Looks like we may bump into you on Nisyros!

Ange,
Will certainly keep you informed of anything I find out. I looked at XL for flights but, like you, went with another airline which hopefully will survive at least another two and a half weeks.
We arrive in Rhodes around midnight and will stay overnight but will leave next morning either for Kos on the Dod Express or for Tilos on the Sea Star. We plan to stay on Nisyros a week then go to Symi on 25 Sept on the Proteus for another week. On Nisyros we'll be staying in the Porfirys. I could wear a red carnation and stand under the clock but suspect a problem in finding either. As a Lancastrian I'll keep a wary eye open for a lass from Yorkshire.
Cheers
