Looking for Dicea Papadopoulou

Postby Giallourakis Descendents » 16 Sep 2008, 15:28

Hello, we are the Giallourakis Family.

We have another post on the Symi Chat page where we're looking for information regarding our ancestors. ("Looking for Giallourakis Family Information")

We've come across a new bit of information! It appears our Symi ancestor, Constantinos Giallourakis was sending money to a lady on Symi by the name of Dicea Papadopoulou -- to tended to Constantinos' parents' graves -- Irene and John through the late 1990's when Constantinos died. We found a copy of a money order to Dicea from 1996.

If anyone knows of Dicea or her family, we would appreciate contacting her to see if she can provide any information about the family -- including the location of the graves.

Thank you so much!

Looking for Dicea Papadopoulou

Unfortunately in Greece the surname Papadopoulous is like being called Smith or Jones in the UK and Dikea is a common girl's name. The best known Papadopoulous family on Symi is that of the Taxas supermarket and that may be the logical place to start your enquiries as the family has been in business in Symi for generations.
