An Invitation to a Wave

Judging by the statistics Allan has been giving me, our webcams are watched by hundreds of people all over the world :D at any given time of the day or night :P so the Purr-petrator would be spotted in the act :D :D :D - and the three-legged ginger cat, the large black and white tom and the raggedy-eared black tom cat who all use our balcony as a highway from roof top to roof top and sleep in the petunias might well scratch back.

:D :D :D Love it.......I'm not a postcard writer and I've done this on a number of occassions to friends back home......and making it absolutely obvious that the webcam is there also gives those wishing to avoid it, the option to cross the road where it's impossible to determine who they are :)

Looking at the more recent statistics, the number of webcam viewers has gone up dramatically over the last month or so, presumably as a result of the publicity the cameras have received on a number of websites.

There were many hundreds of viewers from 72 different countries during June and judging by the numbers so far July is going to be even higher!

Yes, Kon, and it is good that it such a wide range of nationalities that are making use of the webcam too. :D :D

Like anywhere else with a tourist based economy the more people who find out about the island the greater the potential market and every business on Symi benefits in the long run.

There is no point in putting on a pretty party frock if the invitations haven't been sent out to the party!

That is an amazingly arty photo, Snapperjon. :D :D Far better than my humble snap shot.

Perhaps you could give master classes in photography here on Symi (I know you already do this elsewhere) :)

Is anybody on the island? I have a look at the web a few times a day as I go online to look at stock exchanges and never see a soul.(On the SV web, there never is anyone on the ASX or FTSE, only numbers)
Its 10.50pm here, 5.50pm on Symi and it looks as dead as a doornail.

The daytrippers have gone home, OG, and everyone else has gone to the beach. :D

I am sitting in the olive grove, watching the water taxis roar in and out of St Nick's and waiting for it to cool off enough to start watering the plants. Another hen died of heat stroke today. It is going to be a hot year... :(

I'd love to do a few classes on photography here. A walk with photos, perhaps? Be a good excuse to spend a few more weeks here...
