With three ferries in the fleet, one of which in the published timetable has no work at all, and the other two aren't fully employed, you can certainly expect Dodekanisos Seaways to actually operate many more sailings that they've announced so far.
And to prove Andy's point, Dodekanisos have just announced an odd sailing of the Panagia Skiadeni to Symi via Panormitis on May 3rd.

Wouldn't you have thought that the Mayor and Demos would have postponed giving Dodecanese Seaways the heave-ho until they actually had a ship in regular service? Municipal backsides need a good kicking!

Waiting for Ferry at Rhodes

Getting a little concerned. This time last year I had our ferry tickets booked. Schedules were out and I booked on 29th March.

Unless things change, this time, we will arrive 6th June with no ferry till the 7th. For our flights home on the 27th, we will be leaving Symi on the 23rd!!!!!

Could the powers that be on Symi PLEASE GET YOR ACT INTO GEAR! Thank you

I think things will have sorted themselves out very soon but all this uncertainty doesn't do the island any good. First time prospective visitors might be put off.

That is an ANES ferry Symi which was a passenger car and truck carrying ship. Unfortunately it now only has a licence for passengers so it's used as a day trip boat from Rhodes to Symi and most likely won't take passengers with luggage. I do think that a regular service will be sorted out quite soon as the island depends on tourism for the bulk of it's income.

Our favourite place to push in a couple of hours In Rhodes is Socrates Garden in the Old Town - walk up the main thoroughfare - well up past the Swatch Shop and the old hookah house and you will find a passageway on your right with a parrot and there is a green oasis in the heart of the old town. Lovely ice cold draft Mythos !!!

Actually hope for a couple of hours stop-over just to be able to visit :P

We always leave our bags behind the Dodec Kiosk and never have had a problem.

Enjoy.
Is it? I can't see it. Maybe it's hidden by the Nikolaos.

You must have spotted it on its 'Mystery Tour'. According to the schedule it leaves Rhodes at 09.00 and returns at 16.50 but doesn't actually go anywhere! :D
