Bunkers

Hi
Does anyone know the history of the bunkers on the island?
There always seems to be quite a bit on ancient history sites, but details on modern history is a bit harder to track down?
There's a couple just past Nos beach; one at Pedi, on the walk to St Nicholas beach (and an older stone tower there); and two bunkers on the walk to the wine presses; also a couple on the road just above Panorimitis.
Are they Italian, German, Greek etc?
Thanks
