Blue Star Patmos ferry from Rhodes

Postby Duffy » 26 Apr 2018, 22:39

Just wondering where the Blue Star Patmos ferry departs from in Rhodes - is it close to the departure point of the Panagia Skiadeni or in a different part of the harbour?

It is very close to the Panagia Skiadeni's berth, they both leave from Akandia.

I'm sure Andy will be around to answer your questions when he gets chance but if I could just chip in to mention that Dodekanisos Seaways are running their 30% discount offer at the moment. You get the discount only on the return leg of your booking but it's a significant saving.

The Dodekanisos Seaways fastcat fare is €19.00. If you apply online for their BonusWays card before you book, you'll get the card by email and can apply the card number to your booking for a 10% discount. That makes the price €17.10. The Blue Star fare is exactly €8.00
I'm not sure where the prices you have came from, they certainly aren't official. The times are OK though.

It's always your choice, but I would always book directly with the ferry operator if doing so in advance and not through an online agent. It reduces the number of things that can go wrong. There's absolutely no point in booking Blue Star sailings from Symi to Rhodes in advance at all, the ship holds 2000 people and never has more than 300 or so on board by this point in its journey. Buy from their Symi agent, Symi Tours, the day before to save time in the morning.
