2024 Rolling Back The Years

Postby D and E » 28 Oct 2023, 11:49

It’s one of those mornings here on the coast of Mid Wales. One minute the sun is streaming in the conservatory window the next the rain is lashing down on the roof so what to do ?

Check out flights, accommodation and all the necessary logistics for a visit to Sými is what to do and bingo the next thing we know we are booked for June 2024.

We have a friend who has visited with us probably 5 times previously with his last visit being in 2019. We were out for lunch with G last Saturday and he mentioned that he would love to see Sými again. He likes a 10 day break so that set the basic criteria for this morning’s research.

And the outcome is that we are rolling back the years and returning to where our Sými love affair began all those years ago - Taxiarchis. Olympic this morning was offering such a good price, (over £100 cheaper per person than the site showed last night at around 19:00) with Bristol day flights that will get us to Sými on the day we depart and home on the day we return, that we just had to push the Book It Now button.

We always check the prices against the independent option and for our date of 2nd June Olympic smashed it on this occasion.

Now all we need to do over winter is get “Sými Fit” and make room for all that wonderful food and drink again - that’s the tough bit :D

We have just booked 3 weeks for June but it looks like we will just miss you my friends. :(

The flights and prices are never perfect to meet up.

Perhaps we need a "Symi family" meet up in Wales in the spring?

Anyone up for it?

There have been whoops of delight here in rainy Wales when we read your post. Absolutely delighted that you two are able to return to gorgeous Sými and for a 3 week visit too. Yannis better order an extra cask or two of the golden stuff :D

We arrive on 2nd June and will head back on 11th June.

If we do not overlap then at least, we hope, there will be a continuous blog throughout June and there’s always 2025

Take care both.
