Not legally available online outside the UK but these things do have a habit of appearing on Youtube so keep an eye on that.

I really enjoyed the first episode of the series and can't wait to see Symi featured on it. I follow Julia Bradbury on instagram and commented on a recent post regarding the first episode. I commented how I enjoyed the first episode and that I couldn't wait to see Symi and she responded "one of my favourite filming sequences of all time in beautiful Symi , what a place "
Looks like Julia has fallen under the charm of Symi too!

Hello Siobhan and welcome.

That's a lovely quote from Julia Bradbury and it's made the thought of the Symi episode even more exciting. It will be fascinating to see how she shows the place and I'll be watching closely to see if I can tell what makes it her favourite place. Can't wait.

Well we all know how special Symi is and it looks like Julia has discovered that too :D

Thank you Allan, I've been following this site for a few years but never posted until now. I really enjoy the blogs and look forward to reading them. I've stayed on Symi a couple of times and I am looking forward to visiting again this year.
Julia has also replied to my friend's comment on instagram and described Symi as "one of her favourite sequences of her career in the waters of symi and pure magic" Her instagram account is therealjuliabradbury, well worth a follow.

I don't really do Instagram but I'm sure Julia's account name will be useful to other people.

I'm pleased you plucked up the courage to post here after "lurking" for a few years, it's good to hear a new voice.

I'll be watching Corfu tonight. Must be 20 years since I stayed on Corfu and split my stay between Corfu Town and Kassioppi but I enjoyed my stay and Corfu was very nice off the beaten tracks with some nice walks with a beautiful interior - but then haven't most of the Greek islands :)

Corfu was the first Greek island I visited, about 40 years ago! I went to a place called Gouvia. As we left they started shipping in sand for the beach! I think it’s a bit different now.

Silly me. There I was thinking the programme was going to be about Rhodes and Symi but no it was just showing a presenter can bake a cake and do a bit of diving, big let down.

Sadly, keith p, have to agree with you - very disappointing.

I totally agree but sadly I was prepared for this as the programme about Skopolos last week was also very disappointing and showed hardly any of the beautiful island. Julia Bradbury could have filmed her diving exploits anywhere, what a waste of a chance to show the world the wonderful Symi :'(

Yes, it was a huge letdown :(
Perhaps because I had been looking forward to it for so long, but I was hoping for more than that! She said all the right things like "have you ever seen anywhere so beautiful" but she did so while looking at the view behind the camera that we couldn't see! And the hillside behind her that we could see while she was saying her bit to camera was very out of focus. Understandably, the camera was focussed on her but really... The island doesn't need her flattering description if we could only see it.

Disappointing, but hopefully it will do something to help boost tourist numbers.

It's not a conventional "holiday programme" so it was never going to show all the delights...in my opinion anyway.

If I'm not mistaken the Symi Shrimps were served by the owner at Haritomeni who very kindly took us back to our apartments in his own car one late night a few years back.

He refused to take the money offered for the lift!

:)

Yes we saw the shots of Symi and hope it features more in the coming episodes. I wonder where the family on the boat will harbour for the winter.

18th February episode showed more than Julia Bradbury's very disappointing programme did. At least we saw the
Kali Strata!, lets hope for more in the remaining two episodes.
