I seem to remember Grecian before Kozmar! Or is my mind playing tricks.

I remember Grecian. I've never travelled to Symi with them but had a few holidays to Greece with them before they disappeared. They were another good company for travelling solo.

I haven't noticed on the Symi holidays but quite a few of the Rhodes holidays now have baggage as an extra. The prices are reasonable but surely if you book a package holiday then baggage should be included, it is an essential not an extra.

When I was looking at Symi for next year the prices didn't include luggage. As the Symi Olympic prices are so hight for next year I decided to look at Plakias in Crete which is another old favourite of mine - prices here were much more reasonable and did include luggage but didn't include transfers! How is it a package holiday without transfers? Plakias is a long way from the airport and not easy to get to using public transport so that's a no no for next year too. The way things are at the moment I'll be travelling with Jet2 next year. They don't go to Symi or Plakias but at least their packages include transfers and a decent luggage allowance.

I'm flying with Jet2 too Lisa (on an Olympic package) but Jet2 don't do packages to Symi - only to Rhodes. As a solo traveller it works out too expensive to travel to Symi independently.

We seem to have a lot of people counting the days (and hours!) to Symi right now.

September is a very popular time to visit and it looks like the temperature is getting down to bearable levels. I hope all the September visitors have a lovely holiday and if they find time to post here and tell us all about it so much the better. :D
