Feel I must say something but can't find the words. Wendy has been a dear friend for many years - can't imagine Symi without her. R.I.P.

So sorry for your loss Sue - and to all of Wendy's family and friends. I didn't know Wendy very well but was totally shocked when I heard the sad news and can only imagine what all her friends and family are going through. My sincere condolences to you all.

So sorry to hear such sad news and sending condolences to all her family and friends. Remember the last time we met Wendy on the Poseidon after walking across the island with Ged. So many people must have wonderful memories of their times on the island due to Wendy who contributed so much to people's lives. RIP Wendy. You will be sorely missed.

Symi wouldn't be the island it is now without Wendy. From the Symi Visitor newspaper back in the 1990s to the thousands of holidaymakers that have stayed in her accommodation over the years, she has made a huge impact on the place we all love. Symi most certainly won't be the same without her.

Many of us, like Val, will have treasured memories of Wendy.

A couple of years ago I called in the office on the way to lunch for a chat and to give the webcam lens a quick clean. After lunch I asked for the bill to be told "There is no bill, Wendy paid".
While I was eating she had called the restaurant and arranged to pick up the bill. That was Wendy in a nutshell: a kind generous person and I will miss her terribly.

This is how I want to remember her. As she was at Toby and Neil's wedding celebrations last September.

Another very sad and so sudden loss of one of those people who have done so much for Symi and helped it become the magical place that so many of us love.
Whilst we never got to know Wendy she always recognised us as Symi regulars and always had a smile and welcoming greeting.
We were shocked when we heard of her sudden passing over the weekend.
Our thoughts and condolences go to her numerous friends and her family.
And what a perfect video memory from Allan.

If anyone wants to raise a glass of something appropriate in Wendy's memory, the funeral is on Thursday April 5th at 11am Greek time at Agios Giorgios in Pedi.

1pm UK time is when I will break out the Metaxa to toast Wendy's life.

Bad form to correct the moderator, but the funeral is 1pm Greek time, she returns to the island she loved so much at 11am on the Panagia Skiadeni ferry.

Absolutely right Andy. I got the correct numbers but in the wrong order! :D

The funeral is indeed at 1pm so I will raise a glass at 11am UK time.

Very sad news, I worked with Wendy on the morning shift at Vapori in the mid '90s and remember some great times.
