Thanks Gemma but it's difficult not to take a stunning picture on Symi. :)

We still want to go back to Naxos, Lesvos, Crete and discover more islands like Astipalea and the mainland eg..Peloponnese.

Symi is magical though if you walk the paths of Chorio!

Astypalea is still on my 'to visit' list too.

I agree about the paths of Chorio. I spend a lot of time wandering around them and still get lost ;)

Yes, we considered flying into Athens and doing some island hopping on the way to Symi but have just found cheap direct flights with Thomas Cook so we've jumped at them. Astypalea has been on my 'list' for a long time too! After 20 odd years wandering around Chorio I still get wonderfully lost at times. All part of the fun.

Happy New Year to all, and please don't desert this website.

I don't do Facebook, Twitter or any other of the "social meeja", but I still need my "fix" of Symi chatter. My wife and I are just counting the days now until our next visit in July. Can hardly wait !!!

We still can't decide wether to go up or down this year, but we will certainly be having a trip down to Pedi if the rumours re the taverna are true.
We have only ever had lunch in Pedi up till now, so a change of routine will do us good.

We tried staying in Pedi last year just for a change after many years in Chorio. It was lovely. It made our walk to Nimborio a bit more challenging :) but walking to St Nick's is a doddle, and as I said above, we've booked again for September.
It's still lovely to walk (or bus) up to Rainbow in the evenings (other bars are available :) )
