Good news for Symi shopkeepers and restauranteurs, the replacement ship King Saron was much smaller and so fewer day trippers made it to Symi.

Will be interested to know if it does the Saturday evening run that was mentioned in other threads.

No. They've produced the standard daytime timetable Rhodes-Symi-Panormitis-Rhodes for the rest of the season. They were definitely doing a Sunday evening service just for the month of June and had the necessary permissions, but of course the ferry broke down with major engine damage very shortly before the first Sunday evening service was due to leave Rhodes. They had actually sold just 8 tickets for the first departure (which I imagine didn't encourage them to try again in July).
They hadn't received official approval for a Saturday evening service, it never even went on sale.

Thanks Andy that is of great help.
Although we are with Olympic on 8th July we have booked a hotel in Rhodes as we didn't want to be left to the vagaries of their stop over offering.
