First Ever July Visit
Posted: 04 Jun 2017, 09:49We didn't think we would be seeing our beloved Symi until September but E has cleverly organised her working patterns in the second week of July and having been monitoring the Olympic website we saw a 7 day break at one of our favourite Chorio apartments - Anastasia's - and at such a good price with day flights from Manchester we booked yesterday.
Many regular "Olympians"
may know this but if you call Olympic rather than just book through the website you can sometimes squeeze a few more £ discount - yesterday they very kindly gave us another £15 off a very discounted price (it has gone back up today 
) - every little helps.
We know that even with 08:00 flights from Manchester on a Saturday going out and a Rhodes flight the following Saturday at 14:55 coming home we will be staying on Rhodes for a couple of nights due to the ferry timetables but we have never mind staying over on Rodos - except that one time when D booked a hotel above a nightclub that vibrated until 4am. So will have 5 nights on Symi and in July for the first time ever in our 20+ years of visiting. We intend skipping the bus and hotel(s) that Olympic provide as history and this site confirms that it is pot luck where you end up and we prefer to be in Rhodes town centre - the Hotel Plaza, The International or The Hermes are all hotels we have used independently before.
D now needs to take care of the logistics for the UK side of the trip and make sure his new iPad has the necessary photo app to size photos for the blog he always does on the SV site but with only 5 dinners on Symi we will need to be very selective
