Buses run all year round. The timetable varies seasonally though. In particular the last bus can be as late as 24:00 in high season or as early as 20:00 in midwinter.
Timetables are at the main bus stops and on the bus itself. The Panormitis bus service is also year-round and its timetable is displayed on a card in the bus windscreen.

Tavernas - there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer as it does depend what you like to eat and drink. Up in Chorio Georgio & Maria's is a safe bet for reasonable prices, down in Yialos To Spitiko is worth a try.

Thankyou for your reply having a nice time here on symi ,tried a place near the harbour to eat last night not great but our first meal out really didn't no where was best tonight I'm cooking at our studio it cost me two and a half euro for the ingredients ,,fried zucchini for starters with skordalia ,,followed by fried potatoes and garlic bread ,,,followed by rocky road all washed down with 3 euro wine from Syros ,,yes I know there's no fish on my menu but don't want the neighbours to complain about the smell ,,,,it's not changed much here on symi the only thing we noticed was the harbour at pedi this was n the plans when we were last here nice to see it completed ,today we went to the little taverna along passed the boat yard and up and over the hill Metapontis was so glad to see the same ladies there when we were last here the young girl was having English lessons from a tutor ,,her service is like no other that's what makes this place special very fond memory's

Glad to hear you are finding your feet on your return to Symi, Sasha.

We have just returned after our latest visit.

If you like pizza & pasta we suggest you head to the Dolphin just over the bridge at the harbour - great value. Also the giros restaurants are always good - especially the small place adjacent to the spice shop opposite the Customs House.

If you want fish many places now sell on a fixed price rather than by the kilo - expect to pay a minimum of around €15 for a decent sized bream.

The bus was still running late at night for visits to Chorio but with a taxi at €5 with tip there isn't much in terms of price between bus and taxi for two but do recommend booking a taxi for a late evening return.

The taxi boats were winding down earlier this week but weather permitting Posseidon intended at least another week of trips and at €35 for a day out with an excellent BBQ lunch this is great value.

We hope the unsettled weather of Wednesday & Thursday has cleared and normal service has been resumed for your visit.
