We mentioned in a recent post - Preliminaries - that we were looking to take a one way hire car for the home to Gatwick (and return) journey.
As Europecar's Airport Connect service is not widely publicised we felt this option may be attractive to Symi Visitors who, like us, stay some considerable distance from the airport.
However you may find the website not wanting to play - coming up with a message saying that cars are not available on the date selected - IGNORE.
You may also find that the local office is not aware of the Airport Connect tariff and may even struggle to make the booking.
So just call the very helpful Central Reservations (0871-384-1087) and they will provide a Fiat 500 level of car for £49 (unlimited mileage) each way. Larger type cars are available at increased rates. The important aspect of Airport Connect is that it does not come with the One Way Penalty Charge (circa. £50 each way) that most hire car providers charge and that only comes up when you are most of the way through an online booking.
So this has worked out cheaper for us than the train from Aberystwyth or the secure airport parking from the reputable company that we trust and have used many times.
