Cheapest Drinks

Postby Glen » 06 Jun 2006, 16:57

Lets see if we can keep this one going over the entire season. Anyone who visits the Island see if you can find the cheapest price for the following. Or if you've already been see if you can dredge through those memories

Large Bottled Beer
Small Bottle Beer
Large Draught Beer
Small Draught Beer
Ouzo (With and Without Mezes)
Long Drink (Vodka and orange, G and T, Campari and lemodande etc)
Cocktail
Glass of Wine

Add more drink types if i've missed any !

Hopefully we'll end up with a definitive list of the cheapest drinking places on Symi :)

(and lets not turn it into a rant about how expensive some places are :? ! )

Cheapest is not always the best.I used to love the Kalistrata Bar but wee Jimmy liked to sit on the public bench and drink his own.

Last year got the best ouso at old bank bar in front of Harani.
Fourteen years and only been to Mary's Vapori once, that must tell you something

I beat you Willie, never have I darkened the doorway.
We "oldies" can remember where everywhere was as cheap as chips. But now, I guess it would still have to be Pachos? Unless its turned into a lap-dancing club or has roulette out the back!!

If you are feeling adventurous - and remember to pick up your litter afterwards - pack a picnic and head for one of those benches way up the mountain where you can watch the sun go down. A bottle of cold retsina, a chunk of feta cheese, the scent of warm oregano bushes in the mountain air...
