How come we don't have upto the minute Mayoral Election results posted on here?

While I'm here trying to figure out who is winning ... Do you have any figures how many votes counted who is leading etc? I would greatly appreciate anything.

I really don't know what all the fuss is about.
Whilst the election is important to the people of Symi they would know the result as it happened. To the folk who read and contribute to this page, the election is of little importance so that is probably why our mates at SV have not rammed it down our throats.

Well I'm in New York and have a summer home on Symi. Been visiting the Island almost yearly for the last 16yrs, could honestly say I've only seen a good difference on the Island with the current re-elected mayor in office. I like visiting Symi yearly and noticing something different, it was not always like this with the then previos Mayor. It's good to see they've been making changes for the better for the people living there and the tourists. I'm sure there are several hundred people like me as several relatives living in the US that were from Symi, called me for the election results. I've seen more of a change the last 4yrs with Lefteri in office than 12yrs before he was elected to office.

Lefteris Papakalodoukas won by an unconfirmed 459 votes. Further statistics will be available later once they are released by the relevant authorities.

We'll only know in the next few hours who the town councillors will be. As the margin was so high it is possible that the winning team may be allocated as many as ten seats on the council.

Sad (and surprising)to see that Jean got so little support :cry:

- but I've just phoned her and she doesn't seem particularly put out about it. As she says, the main thing is that the current mayor got back in - and with what apparently is a record majority. When I was on the island she was saying that it was he who was keen to have her as a member of his team (and he popped into the bar one evening while I was there), so he at least will no doubt be prepared to listen to her views.
