Howling gale and plummeting temperatures

Postby Adriana » 28 Jan 2007, 15:43

2 mm of rain in the early hours and the north wind has been howling round the island ever since. Half the male population of the island has been busy rescuing boats. Pedi is getting really pounded this time and the sand rising from the football pitch is quite impressive. Beyond the entrance to Pedi bay the sea is just a mass of white crests all the way across to the Turkish coast. :o

And we are heading for our fourth day of +40. :P
Last evening it got very overcast and plenty of lightning and thunder, but nothing came of it. :(
Its 9.30am and already it is 32. :o
The only thing thriving are my petunias, what a hardy plant they are!!

It looks fantastic. I was just in the other end of the country in the weekend and the bridges between the islands and Sweden too were closed some of the time cause of the wind.Exciting experience to drive 250 m over the see in a howling gale. But we made it without being blown into the see.
