Has anyone decided to visit the old place this year? Just checking to see what my bill in Pat's Bar is likely to be. I've arranged the storm to hit after 17th October. I missed it by one day last year (26 years of careful experience).

March 25th to April 6th :D , and then again my usual 3 weeks from mid-May to early June 8-) 8-) for which I committed myself some time ago.

I booked the March/April trip because I've signed up for an Easter trip to Cyprus which lasts only one week, and that seemed too short a time to spend in the Eastern Med having flown out that far - so I'm coming to Symi hoping to catch the best of the spring flowers. (Not that 'best' will be particularly good after a dry winter :?: ).

With those two visits already under my belt, it's perhaps unlikely that I'll return this year in September/October - try somewhere else for a change. Or even, if I like March Symi out of season, I might give it a try again in late November :) .

Anthony, I wish I was retired! Having said that we're off to Barcelona next weekend for a 5 day city break.

I'm going to Barcelona in three weeks-Champions League business. :geek:
I've also just arranged a school trip in May to-Barcelona! I said after the last school foreign trip that I would NEVER do it again ; not so much because of the kids but the other staff... :? I'm a glutton for punishment. Barcelona's a great place though... :)

:D May 9 for two weeks 8-) Maybe we could meet up for a :geek: :geek: Anthony. I also walk. Just thinking about Symi gives me a break. I'm hoping that there will still be some wild flowers in bloom, can anybody encourage me about that :?:

I don't arrive until May 16, but will be happy to meet up with you during your second week. For beers :geek: :geek: , the most reliable place to find me is Jean's any time after 10.00 pm; also Pat's many mornings around midday, or at the Rainbow around the same time.

According to Adriana, the greatest variety of wild flowers is found in March-April (hence the timing of my extra visit), but I can confirm from many years experience that there are still a number around in May, before they get finished off by the heat.

Look forward to seeing you :) .
