Poll for OG

Postby Allan » 15 Feb 2007, 11:16

I think this really belongs in the off-topic forum but I can't find a way to post a poll there.

Ozzie Geoff in the "Snoozing" thread said:
I recall the late Kerry Packers comment "If you're not smoking 100 a day you're not smoking.."
Would that be the Kerry Packer that had eight heart attacks and died in his sixties?

At the risk of upsetting the vote, I've ticked each one 'cos it depends of whether it's Sunday, Monday, Tuesday.............

Stories abound about Packer. He was once playing in the high roller room at a Las Vegas casino (as you do). A very loud mouthed Yank was at the table telling everyone he was worth over $60 million.
Without raising his eyes Kerry said "I'll toss you for it". :o

That shut him up!! :P

After one of his heart attacks that rendered him "dead" for some minutes an intrepid reporter asked him if there was life thereafter etc. Kerry looked him straight in the eye and said "I've been there, lad and I can tell you there is **** all there".

Gee Sue you were lucky. I tried just last week to book a hire car in Dusseldorf from Easycar  Spent ages filling in all the details only to be told I was already registered  Went elsewhere :) . HOWEVER, all this talk about Kerry causes me to draw attention to the originally Canadian Conrad BLack  Now a U.K citizen AND LORD :D Sponsored into the Lords by Maggie the Hen and Peter :o Lord Carrington he gave up his Canadian citizenship. Looks as if he may go to Jail  directly to Jail and not even collect $200 US :P Hope the Limeys will bail him out ;)

I have to tell you, having just recovered from pneumonia, 'flu and jaundice, I yesterday put my car in the garge for 24 hours to have some repairs done and - even though I haven't ridden on a bike for 26 years - I put a mountain bike in the back to ride the thremiles home.
All the lack of exercise, too much smoking and too much of the demon drink showed it's head. I was absolutely bollo**sed when I got off the bike (having use every one of the eighteen gears) ! I had to sit down for three hours to stop the pain and trembling thighs - it was only the five cigarettes and four bottles of Heineken that calmed me down ! :geek:
