45 Degrees!

Just spotted about the heatwave in Greece.

It mentions a temperature of 45 degrees on Rhodes! Since it's usually even hotter on Symi this is one of the very few occasions I'm glad I'm not on GLA! :(

Temperature on the Visitor home page is showing 31 degrees, does this mean it is only warm and not hot, 11 degrees here in the rain in East Yorkshire. I certainly wish I was on Symi.

The tan I got during the first week of june is stating to fade, I need some :( and I dont care if it's 45 degrees!

Have tried 48 in the shade.. you just sit and do nothing but drink lots of water!

It's nearly 1pm here in Symi and the temperature is 35 degrees in the shade on my courtyard and 34 degrees inside my house. The dog and the cats are simply lying around inside the house on the relatively cool floor, doing absolutely nothing except panting and occasionally changing position.
My poor laptop is suffering in the heat - the next time I make a trip back to the UK, I must by one of the those things that you can put under the computer to keep it cool.

On Saturday is was 37 degrees inside Ian's lorry and 46 degrees outside. And it feels even hotter today. Not so good when you are waddling around like a small bungalow!!

Of course one of those freeze/heat bags would be useful for me for the next time I have an accident and damage a limb!

I'm well and truly cheesed off with what seems like almost persistent rain in Oxfordfordshire :( :( .

It rained right through the autumn and winter from October to mid March when we seemed to have an early summer which lasted all of about 5 weeks!! I've hardly seen any sun since I got back from Symi mid May :(

We have what could be described as water meadows where I live in Thame and they usually flood for a few weeks over the winter if we get heavy rain but they've been almost constantly flooded since last October. On the upside, it is nice to see the water fowl that it attracts :) .

The thermometer in our living room was reading 42 centigrade at 6 p.m yesterday afternoon - and it was still reading 35 centigrade at 3 this morning! :o :o

All life forms are taking strain at the moment - The dog is digging foxholes under the lemon trees, the cats pant in the stone sink and the chickens stand around looking pathetic with their wings spread to let the air riffle through their armpits (wingpits?!)

Persistently pouring down here - and that's putting it politely! What else can we expect though - Glastonbury Weekend followed by Wimbledon Fortnight (without Centre Court roof) - it's better than a rain dance!

Hopefully no Cliff Richards singing this year, or would that make the rain worse. (I thought you always did put things politely Kojak)

OG I'm shocked   . But you know what they say...there's one born every minute and I guess Kate must be one! It'd take more than "a donga and a half" to gain my interest I can tell you!

The sad thing is that some folk actually thinks Doherty is cool because he is such a prat....it's a strange world!
