The British have always been known for weather commentaries. But folks we who live elsewhere do sympathise with all those so badly affected by rain and flooding. Coupled with the terrorist activities, you are having a rough time. The rest of us can only hope that things will get a bit better for you all!!!

On the bright side, Tony Bliar retired. On the gloomy side, the real power behind the throne is now Prime Minister....

I am really p****d off with everything here, and want to be somewhere warm.A visit to the hospital with my mum just did it for me,getting a wheelchair out of the boot in the pouring rain, then walking in it through puddles and puddles,we were drenched.I saw clouds like i've never seen before

I'm not jealous at all Sue. It'll be far too hot for comfort during the day, you won't be able to sleep at night because your feet will be cold without those lovely socks I got you last year. You'll be bored without the crowd... etc. etc. etc.

Many thanks folks!
Allan, we're probably going to try Halki/Tilos for a couple of days in our middle week if my better half can drag me off Symi.

Mmm, I did notice Halki and Tilos on the schedule and have toyed with the idea of a quick visit to Tilos.

I did Halki for a week a couple of years ago and it was beautiful (but not as beautiful as Symi..in my opinon at least). I found the island very laid back and think had I stayed for 2 weeks it would have required the use of a stretcher to get me on the plane I was so chilled out :!: ......nothing to do with the ouzo this time folks ;) .

I wouldn't mind just a quick visit to Tilos as I suspect it may be a little too quiet for someone travelling on their own as I do.

I would be interested to hear your view if you get to visit Tilos Sweet Sue :) .

It's good to see a direct Symi - Tilos - Halki service at last. Pity there doesn't seem to be a way to get back from Halki except via Rhodes. Next year perhaps?

Three days (Wednesday - Saturday) on Tilos looks possible Sue although my money's on your better half being unable to drag you onto the ferry! ;)

Last night I sat at an open air production of Hamlet......in the pouring rain  .

All I could do was laugh along with the rest of the audience since the only option really was to see the funny side......we must have looked quite comical sitting there with our granny rugs and umbrellas....and that's just the blokes ;)

Temperature here in Edmonton right now :?: (1.00 p.m.) a nice balmy 30C. Clear blue sky - forecast to go to 32-33C in the afternoon. :D Ideal conditions for :geek: . In lieu of Mythos, my beer is Big Rock Traditional. The Brewery was called "Big Rock Brewery" by the founder, one McNally, after the erratics found along the edge of the prairies 8-) May I request Kojak, Dave et al to initially check upon what an erratic is, before attemting to hurl any gratuitous comments in my direction 8-) :P 8-) As a final piece of irrelevant information, I should add that said McNally imported a German brewmaster :geek:
