Big fat towels

Postby benedetti » 05 Aug 2007, 12:26

I am going to take a tip from the lovely Sue O this year and pack some extra cotton sarongs. This means you don't have to fill up your case with big fat beach towels. The sarongs can be rinsed out and dried overnight. David Beckham has now made it acceptable for you laddies to wear them so perhaps the theme for this years Benedetti house party will be sarongs and togas. Another tip from OG was to lay out all your gear and then only take a third.....this might be harder but I will try...Roll on September.

If you ever go to Datca you can buy the cotton sarongs there for 3 Lira, same as 2 euro. Very nice and pleasant to wear. Can be used as tablecloth, to sit on in plastic chairs  , to take over you when you need a nap :!: and probably a lot of other things too.

Now there's an idea - sarong, socks and sandals! - all co-ordinated of course... :D

At least one of the tourist shops in the harbour had beach towels for sale for 4 euros in July. It's hardly worth taking your own for that price.

And there are some good buys in the sarong department too. I usually look out for the ones that are big enough to use as impromptu tablecloths or sheets as well :P

Sarong, socks and sandals - that sounds like Fiji, Kojak! :D

Hmm, I think I'll stick to the towels..
I have no clue on how to fold, bind or whatever you do with a sarong, allthough I like the idea of using them as a tablecloth!!

Sarong, socks and sandals :o :o :o ....dare you, dare you!!

I bought one of those microfibre towels for the beach. Really lightweight and dry out quickly, definitely one of the best 'holiday' essentials I've ever bought :) .

I do something similar to OG.

I usually take out everything in the wardrobe that I'd like to take with me about 2 weeks before I'm due to go. Then I think about what can be mixed and matched to produce different outfits. It's amazing how much you can cut down on your luggage but I have to admit I'm a bit of a sucker for pretty dresses, so I sometimes find it hard to be too ruthless!

Tis no rumour Jerry....at the risk of sounding a wee bit jealous, which I'm not cos some of us were naturally blessed with an ample cleavage  , they look somewhat unnatural :) ! But please feel free to correct me because of course our male posters may have a completely different opinion!

If I was married to Becks, they'd certainly have chocolate on them  ;) !

How do we know that Kojak isn't David Beckham's Grandad :?: This last week Beckham went all the way from LA to Toronto just to sit on his behind. BUT, Toronto sold out :? Talk about a con :o

Without lowering the tone too much, plastic / Silicone does not appeal, mother nature does a fine job and remember, size isn't everything. Quality not just quantity as nature intended and variety is the spice of life.
