Has it cooled down a little on Symi, ONLY showing 30C on the Home page, reached a roasting 17 C on the East Coast Yorkshire today, and no rain.

Cooling Down on Symi

Postby Adriana » 18 Aug 2007, 08:21

It's around 39 degrees at midday most days dropping to about 25 at midnight. In other words, better than it was but not exactly time to reach for the woollies! We don't get as much wind as Rhodes so Symi is often ten degrees or more hotter than Rhodes. :o

Funny you should say that Kojak, my son's ex girlfriend came from Manchester, she moved down here because she said it was always raining up there  .

Isn't it wierd how it can vary over what is a relatively short distance :?:

I shouldn't complain really Mazie, living near the north west coast does mean that any snow we get doesn't last very long. I come from Co Durham and while I love it up there I can definitely do without digging my way out of the house!

My grandaughter is 2 today, when my daughter found out she was pregnant she said good now we'll be able to have parties for her in the garden (cos the other two were born Dec and Jan).Last year it threw it down ALL DAY they had a big bouncy castle in the garden it was a mud bath everywhere it was awful, and today, the parties on again, the bouncy castle's standing tall toys are all in the garden, guess what it's just started pouring down, and yes Mazie we're just outside Manchester.I want to MOVE DOWN SOUTH for some better weather

Never mind. For those who want a bit of warmth on Symi, look at today's Katherimini:

Taking water with you is getting to be a serious suggestion.

Cooling Down on Symi

Postby MrsMcS » 21 Aug 2007, 14:28

Aargh, Adriana and Richard. That is not what I wanted to hear. I am hoping for a cold snap in 3 weeks' time (maybe around the mid 80s during the day!!). Having not had any summer at all here this year I am not going to be acclimatized to the heat. Have only managed to have our summer duvet on for about 2 days and then back to the winter one, and we have had the heating on for the last week :(

Cooling Down on Symi

Postby maziemoo » 21 Aug 2007, 14:57

I'm sat in my office with my coat on  !

Only 10 more days and we're into September which means we can kiss goodbye to summer :( :( .

Rain, rain yet more bl***y rain  , when will it all end, I'm starting to develop webbed feet :o ! They're talking of the possibility of yet more flooding round here because the rivers are still running high.

Only consolation is that I guess we don't have Hurricane Dean to contend with, can't even begin to imagine what living with that horror is like :o :o !

They probably did OG but were dumb enough not to get caught :( ...just think under different circumstances I could be called Matildamoo :P .

Wonder if I'd still have discovered Symi though :?:
