Pedi Marina

I noticed the article in the Symi Visitor,about the marina and widening of the road and wondered if the "works" have started. If so how much (if any) disruption and disturbance they are causing. I will be staying at the Pedi Beach hotel. thanks

Hardly any effect at all for you Graham. Towards the bottom of the road down to Pedi, a road branches off to the left and it is this road that's being widened. The main road bends around to the right and goes down to the sea, opening onto the pier. The Pedi Beach Hotel is along to the right of the pier and so well away from the work being carried out on the new Marina which is over on the left hand side of the bay. You will be able to see the site but it'll be far enough away from the hotel to prevent any disturbance.

The "Marina" was just a smallish landfill at the beginning of May, and word was that the contractors had left the island as they thought the local transport was too expensive - this might take som time...

Thats a relief Kojak, must admit I was worried that my peaceful days at Pedi might be over. Though I enjoy the other beaches it's always nice to spend a relaxing day down there when the thought of a taxi boat is just a little too taxing after a tiring evening on the lemonade!!
