A good 45 minutes walk Graham. Easy walking because there is a road but it's a long uphill slog to Chorio and in June it will be getting hot. Going down the Kalistrata from Chorio is only about 10 minutes downhill but considerably longer going back up the 370 odd steps! There is an hourly bus service which runs between Pedi and Yialos.

Why don't you take the bus up and the walk down? Its a very beatiful walk and reasonably marked. The book "Walking on Symi" has the route.
If you are going from Yialos you can take the bus until the very big oak tree after the Chorio bus stop and if you walk a little further the path come out on your left at a little chapel.

The (narrow) path is even easier to find nowadays because the first part has been surfaced with concrete. It leaves the road at a narrow angle, just after the yellow-painted house and before the chapel. (If you actually reach the chapel, you've gone too far).

It's certainly a beautiful walk in April or early May, but having seen it then I don't really enjoy it later on when all the vegetation has turned brown and the flowers have gone.
