Is there anywhere to get this sort of thing? And do any of the eateries cater for lactose intolerance?

Hadzipetros supermarket (the one next to the baker and the butcher, round the corner from the Vapori) usually stocks soya milk, as does Amara by the clock tower. It is quite pricy though.

When eating out in traditional places avoid moussaka, pasticcio and papoutsaki as all of these include bechamel sauce and cheese in the recipes.

It is now possible to buy goat's milk feta in tubs the same way as they sell the cow's milk version. Look for the green label as opposed to the usual blue. It's about 4.50 euros for 400 grams so the same price as cow's milk feta. With yoghurt you'll have to check labels carefully as these days most of it is cow's milk or a mixture.

And I too am 'doing things with tomatoes' - the strong meltemi winds we've had lately are bashing them about and they need watering at least twice a day in this heat.
