Myself and some friends from work at Sedgefield Council did the C-C in march this year in aid of Willowburn hospice and we raised about �3500. between us. Apart from a good soaking on the first day from Whitehaven to Greystoke we had a good ride. Second day saw us go on to Allenheads, more hills, but a friendly face in the bar-Jennifer from Symi. last day was a bit flatter once we had climbed out of Allenheads and then up to the old railway track at Rookhope, down hill to the coast at Roker. One of the sights on the last day were the metal men made from bits left from Consett Iron works. they towered up into the sky. A great weekend. Apparently they are thinking of doing the three peaks next year, Ben Nevis, Scarfell and Mt.Snowdon. Don't know if the old legs will take me that far especially if we have to cycle the road sections.
Just remembered the metal men were called the Transformers
