How come the National health service was not named after you, 1948 and all that?

It should have been. I was born on the day it began and worked for them most of my working life. The tight sods have never sent me a card!

:D I was hoping Kojak would tell us that. Now at his venerable age lots of 'bits' start to play up. Come on K pouring rain here again could do with a giggle over your 'bits' :D

Thanks Joanie. I didn't do anything special on the day but went to a very enjoyable concert at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester the day after. Enjoyed a pint or two of excellent ale afterwards in one of the few real pubs in Manchester centre - no muzak no tv, just good beer lol.
