Lidl are doing their Greek specials again from today. I have to say I wasn't too impressed with the food items last time, but the Retsina is worth going there for!

You beat me to it John! While you were typing that message I was busy emptying the shelves of our local Lidl of their stock of retsina. ;)

Bought a few things of things like we do every year. olive oil, retsina, spinach and cheese parcels aka spanikopitta and tyropitta(I have had them a couple of times before and they are wonderful with lovely light flaky pastry. :)

We also got 'custard swirls' I haven't seen them before, my guess was correct, they are very much like bugatsa, one of the few Greek desserts I really like.] 8-)

Here is a thought do you think the Lidl :D shops in Greece do British Specialties in their shops and if so what would they sell?

Stocked up with retsina and all the meze items didn't need any ouzo or brandy as we brought some back with us last month dinner tonight when the kids come round will be Greek style unfortunately as here in the west of Scotland the weather is not as good as down south it will probably have to be served indoors. As for Greek Lidl stores how about haggis,Lancashire hotpot, steak and kidney pudding, for starters plus of course Scotch whiskey and real ales
