Winter draws on

Postby mr wotsin » 04 Nov 2013, 12:33

Went to the bar last night and had to scrape the ice off the windscreen before driving home. Not me driving. Temp 3*.
This was after 3 days in York with the Symi crew when it rained every day.
Bernard is now going to commute from Blackburn to York for his weekend drinking for cider at 1.50 a pint.

I travelled home from York looking at an increasingly evil sky. I opted for a taxi from my local station which was just as well as the heavens opened. Frosty morning here also.

Winter draws on

Had our first snow of the winter on the ground this morning. Doesn't bode well but living up North in t'Pennines we get used to bad weather. Had to bring the cows in to t'front parlour to keep them warm but at least I don't have to vac the carpet until next spring. Roll on Symi in July!

Winter draws on

Postby Gemma1 » 06 Nov 2013, 07:18

We've had a bit of frost (and lots of rain) here but no snow yet thank goodness. Tripped on the stairs at home the weekend before last and broke my wrist so I'm in pot for the next 3 weeks  Need the snow and ice to stay away until I'm fully recovered - don't want to end up falling and breaking something else. It's the first time I've ever broken a bone and it's a pain having to rely on buses and other people to ferry me around as I can't drive until it's healed.

Cold, wet and very windy here in Surrey but no snow or frost. Oh dear Gemma1, I feel for you. I have that fear of tripping when going up or down the Kali Strata - hence, I always get the bus.

Don't mock. My daughter bought a onsie and i so much envied the cosy, comfortable, relaxed mode she was in i bought one to match!! Anyone in their teens will think it uncool - 40 and 50 year olds will think the same but i commend the onsie to the house - wear it with pride and know true cool!! 8-)
p.s - toes optional!
