If you do go there, though, don't talk too much about it when you next visit Greece. A lot of Greek people are very bitter about what they (and international law) see as the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus, and they may regard tourists going there as helping to prop up an illegal regime.

How about Madeira? Pretty temperate all the year round, terrific scenery and stuff.

We went to Madeira last Easter with Jet 2 stayed at a small hotel called Quintinha Soa Joao didn't try the sea but hotel had indoor and outdoor pools. Madeira is very scenic with excellent walking and plenty to see but not sitting around by the pool temperatures

You could go to Goa, south Goa is very relaxing (quieter than the busy north) and you would get lots of sunshine 8-) Unfortunately the price of the visas doubled this year so that will add around 100 onto the price of the holiday. We've been the last 4 years in early Feb though we're going to Cuba this year as OH wanted a change. Hopefully that will be nice and relaxing with some sunshine too ;)

Just realised I need to renew our passports, expire in July, should be plenty of time for end of February.

I was there about 100 years ago. It was the last time I holidayed in Spain. The tourist bubble had just burst and our hotel was surrounded by half finished hotels and roads. the waiters almost threw meals at us. I hoped they've cleaned the place up lol.

Quite a number of people in the village [Burnopfield]have been recently and they all speak highly of the place. been told to visit Mijas as well, just a 2eu bus ride away.
Never fancied Cyprus, hear too many stories of Russian mafia take overs.

good choice Mr Wotsin. Spring comes early to southern spain and hopefully the sun will shine and flowers will be blooming.Benalmadena has very good public transport links if you do not want to hire a car and lots to see and do within walking distance. Be sure to visit Benalmadena Pueblo if you are staying down on the coast. The beautiful white village is only a short bus ride inland. The square with the fountain in the middle is the place to eat lunch. Definitely go to Mijas. On Wednesdays a flamenco display is performed in the village square at 12noon for free.Back to Benalmadena, the park is beautiful and if the weather clear, take the cable car up for the most amazing views.Have a great trip.

Northern Cyprus is beautiful and very dear to my heart, the beaches are fabulous and uncrowded even during peak times and the ruins at Salamis are well worth a visit.

Don't let them stamp your passport though, they provide you with loose sheets to keep in your passport or at least they did when I last visited which I have to admit was a few years ago now.

That was Barcelona. Yes, I took advantage of Ryanair's flights from Blackpool. Sadly Ryanair took the huff with Blackpool airport. The last time I was in Benalmeadina was about 100 years ago.
