Mr wotsin "Willie and Margaret" but margaret has never contributed, just me having the odd word. Odd being the norm. Live in Burnopfield, about eight miles from Newcastle and two miles from Olga whom we have never met either at home or Symi and she knows and has met[probabely in Tanfield] Kojak as well.
Ex quantity surveyor. Now amateur bridge builder.

Hello!

Postby Sue L » 11 Dec 2012, 11:37

Hi my name is Sue married to John we first came to Symi with Laskarina holidays in 1995 we've been 9 times since we now bring Jane my mother who likes to sit in the sun and swim in warm water. We live in Stockport and keep threatening to go somewhere else but the pull of Symi has just been too great for the last 3 years. We visit Symi in late August early September we both still work and I use the bank holiday to make the most of my holidays. I'm a chemist and work in sales for a scientific instrument company we're small but we manufacture here in the UK. John my husband is a university lecturer

I am Carol Harkness (much prefer to called 'Pud'..and yes, I am always baking ! I live in Wirral, Cheshire, and I'm 55 (ugh!) and came to Symi last month, for the day. I'd been staying in Rhodes for an extremely long week, and just before I chucked the Greek towel in for good, I made the magical decision to visit Symi for the day. I was instantly enchanted! Hence, I'm back in (on?) Symi early Sept, and thought it would be a good idea, to familiarise myself with Symi a little before arriving on the 6th...Cant wait !

Martin and Lyndsay here. Been coming to Symi every year for 16 years and always in the sweltering heat of July. Lovely! Work in Leeds city centre but live in Haworth in Bronte Country as the Tourist Board likes to call it. Living in the Pennines we don't see much sun but the sheep are friendly.

Hello!

Postby JenniG » 03 Dec 2013, 00:37

Hi, I'm Jenni and I first fell in love with Symi on a 2 week holiday back in 1980, booked through the Automobile Association (still have the original brochure) on a recommendation from friends. I've lost count how many times I've returned over the years but out of all the places I have travelled to, it is still my all time favourite destination. Had a wonderful time again in September this year, and am looking forward to September 2014 when I'll be meeting up with some very special friends!

Hi I'm Glen.

I live in Newcastle Upon Tyne. I work for an IT contract company and for the last 5 years have been providing onsite technical support at a pharmaceutical company in the Northeast. ( as well as providing unoficial technical support to many Symi residents ;) )

In my spare time i am involved in Newcastle Makerspace, a community workshop/hackspace where we share ideas, build projects, and skillshare in electronics, metalworking sewing, coding, woodworking, brewing, laser cutting, 3D printing and many other forms of making.

Been visiting Symi for about 20 years, often twice a year. i've totally lost count of how many times i've been.
it's awful i don't know why i keep coming back :D

Hello,
My name is Phil and I'm married to a Swiss lady called Anne-Lise. We live in Loughton, Essex. We first visited Symi last year and we are booked to go back in June this next year. There's something about that place that makes you want to go back.
We regularly go to Switzerland about 3 times a year as well to see family. We are both retired which I consider a full time occupation , making wine, going to the gym, playing my guitar, learning french, walking my boxer dog and part of a very active church.
Merry Christmas to you!

A small introduction.

We're from the Netherlands and have been spending our holidays on Kos since '97. We missed a few years after we had our daughter, but have been back at it for three years now :D The hotel where we stayed in the past was sold and the people (all family) that worked there scattered over Kos and some went back to Symi. Last year we visited our Greek friends that moved back to Symi and we fell in love with Symi. We didn't spend much time in yialos and none in chorio, but hope to correct that when we visit again this year. Last year we had only two full days on Symi, this year we will stay a little longer. We will be staying in the monastary at Panormitis, which is absolutely wonderful. The peace and quiet there is really soothing, especially after the busy traffic on Kos. I'm not a religious person, but the place has a certain quality I can't explain.

I have been reading here since last year, as I was looking for information because we were heading in unknown territories ;)

We are Kim and David, Pollychops was our dear old cat. We now have George and Agnes our two westies who keep us very busy. We just came across this post so here we are. Kim works in Law and I design Commercial Offices of which we have been doing this far too long. We live in Epping and escape to our North Norfolk bolthole at the weekends to be by the sea. Kim is an Epping lass and I began Iife on the outskirts of Glasgow and packed my rucksack and moved to Buckinghamshire back in 83 as a young 21 year old. I then met Kim and moved eastwards to Epping. We came across Symi by chance and for two people who have always said no more than two times to the same place we have been seven times. We prefer to stay up top and for the last four visits we go it alone and book direct. It ticks all of the boxes for us as a quiet, beautiful destination with no hassle which is what we need to calm down our busy working lives. Our favourite places are Symi, St Ives Cornwall and all of the North Norfolk coastline. We don't think we need anywhere else but who knows, never say never.
