I normally sit on the set next to that one on the left and yani sits in that one, spent many a happy hour (11am - 1pm or 12noon - 2pm) there over the years.

Tre Moana cruise ship. Just 88 "select guests" from a mere $8000 for seven nights including a visit to Symi.

:D Tickets arrived this week - though not the same excitement printing them off as when they used to arrive in the post ;)

Here's a picture from my last visit when I walked up the Vigla :)

Lovely picture - so clear.

"When I walked up the Vigla" eh? Walked!! Show off :P
I have a nice picture somewhere taken from the minibus as it drove round the Vigla. I felt exhausted just looking out of the window!

I agree, it's not the same level of excitement. It was even more exciting back in the olden days when I had to take a trip into town to collect the tickets from the travel agents. Printing out the boarding passes a few weeks before departure just isn't the same even if it does mean I won't be queueing at checkin.

But the excitement of sitting here waiting for the taxi to arrive, as I am now, is still the same :D

Hi Alan,

have a great time, I'm arriving on 16th so looking forward to seeing you and Julie, though probably at Rainbow, rather than on top of the Vigla :D

Have a brilliant time Allan, I look forward to seeing more of your lovely photos 'live from Symi' :D

Walking up the Vigla was easier than I expected as I stuck to the road so no clambering over rocks and the view was well worth it :)

My plan was to post pictures from Symi regularly but it's been just too hot to go out with the camera so far. It was 38 degrees in the shade in Chorio yesterday and today is likely to be similar.

I did get an odd snap at breakfast time today though....

Hope it cools down a bit before I come out. I can't imagine doing much walking in those sort of temperatures  Might end spending the whole week being a beach bum ;)

That particular cat was unhappy at being denied any of Kevin's bacon. ;)

And yes Gemma1 you are likely to get more use out of your bikini than your walking boots this year. It is a bit cooler today but still stifling.

The lonely cloud wandered off after a few minutes and we are back to that boring wall-to-wall blue sky. ;)

it's a bit "cooler" according to the thermometer at 32 degrees today but the humidity is very high. It feels very hot indeed.

:D As it happens Allan - i think i will be on Symi next year - probably last week of august/first week of September. Putting a lot of thought into it as i have never travelled solo before and this would be a solo trip so for you solo Symi travellers tips on where to stay and where to eat would be good.
I take it that the photo shows your own tanned spades Allan - believe it or not i managed to get a flip-flop mark on my feet this year but boy was it hard work - nearly had pneumonia a couple of times in order to attain the light tan look!!!
