Thanks Allan for the lovely pics - please keep them coming!

Weather dismal here in Yorkshire today although we seem to have missed the worst of the rain so far. Actually, although we've had a miserable summer, it's been quite dry in the east of the county and my garden was looking forward to a proper drenching. Hey ho! It'll do whatever it does and moaning won't help. At least Symi is under 5 weeks away now!

I know Sue! ;) There's plenty of rain in the west of the county so my garden has had a good drenching.

I hope this will brighten up your dismal day a little:

Thanks Allan.

I'm just off for a swim at my local spa/fitness centre but it won't compare with swimming at St. Nicks. Maybe if I shut my eyes and try not to smell the chlorine I can pretend I'm there!

I must admit I don't visit the Forum as often as I should.
The Symi Visitor site is still my home page on my browser.
It used to be so easy then to use the link to the Forum.
When the new Forum was introduced I think the link was broken.
Perhaps if it was fixed we might see an increase in chat ?

You must have stood on the rocks to get that shot of St.Nicks Allan - a corker.

Our favourite spot - haven't missed a trip on George's boat - ever.

The fresh fish for lunch in May was memorable.

Not long till we return in October.

I couldn't agree more! I've been asking Mike the webmaster to change the link since last December but he hasn't got round to it yet. Maybe one day....

And yes, I was stood on the rocks right at the end of St Nick's beach to get the picture. It is a lovely view from up there and, as you say, the food at the taverna is lovely.
I have a short video clip of one of the harbour taxi boats arriving at the beach. I'll dig it out to post here in a little while.

All my pictures of St Nick's are taken from the Pedi side - looking down from the top of the steps before you walk down, I must try to get a different view this year.

I do agree about the link for the chat page. I have been much better at checking for new posts recently but it was much easier when the chat page was on the same site as the webcam :)

Found the video clip.

See if you can spot the point at which the boat's wake reaches the part of the beach I was kneeling on. :D

Oh yes, I got wet Eliza!

I was half kneeling, half sitting on the beach to get a nice low angle shot of the boat arriving. Concentrating on trying to see the camera screen against the bright sunlight I didn't see the boat's wake heading my way. :D

At least it doesn't take long to get dry again on Symi in the summer.

It's pouring with rain in Durham, and I have just turned the heating on!! The temperature on Symi is 36 degrees. I have just spent ten minutes trying to cheer myself up by looking at Allans lovely pictures and repeating mantra style "6 more weeks, 6 more weeks", can't come soon enough.

Yes, wood burner lit last night to warm up the house and dry out damp walls (old cottage).

4 weeks for us too. So glad the forum has livened up - lovely pics and confirmation that Symi is still there and waiting for us!

At least Sooty has a nice bed to hide under. Symi cats have to find a safe place where they can.....
