Is it me ... or is this cumbersome???
Can't say I like the layout and it's certainly not as easy on the eye as the previous format.
Ah well ... that's my gripe for the day!

...Well I wasn't sure at first, and I did like the layout of the old page but I've got the hang of this now and i'm staying with it. It works for Halki after all... :)

I like it

It's the same format as all the other boards i'm used to.

The old board was simple enough to use but totally lacking in features and because every post was onscreen you could ony see a few before they dissapeared off the bottom of the screen

with his if you want to see all the threads just look at the top level. if you want to see all the posts in a thread just go into that thread. much more organised.

I like it..
On the other hand, it's tiresome that ALL messages have to be moderated before the appear here.
Either let the messages go public the minute they are written or get a "day- time" moderator.

How does one include pictures? Like the one of the goat?

(see, even those of us in the office are having to learn the ropes...!)

First of all you need somewhere to host the picture then you include it in the message using IMG tag

The format is
[ IMG ] [/ IMG ]

Obvioulsy you replace the http...URL with wherever you picture is stored

also take out the spaces i have put before and after the square brackets. I put them in to stop this posting turning it into an actual link

here it is again without the quotes. it should appear as an embedded picture

So I need to have my picture out there in cyberspace already...

I notice that if I right click onto the insert image above it will take me to My Pictures... :?:

Yes I'm afraid the picture does have to be somewhere in cyberspace before it can be included in your post.

But then, there are lots of pictures in cyberspace! :D

First day back at school after four weeks of poor health. Came as a surprise, but I think I've cracked it - but not totally. Give me time, I'll borrow a grandchild from a friend - should sort it out in no time.
At first glance it should stop some of the silliness - but I wonder how we will fare for the bouncing very quickly off each other come any situations like the panto. There'll be a way round it I suppose....but a small price to pay to stop guerilla warfrae !
