Mosquito- repellent

Postby Mille » 11 Jul 2006, 11:44

OH GAWD, just my luck :(
My mozzie repeller, you know, the kind you stick in the electric socket, went up in smoke last night.
And guess what?! I cant buy it in Denmark! So here I am, stuck with tons of anti- mozzie tabs and no thingy.. And clouds of mozzies

Even bought some citronella candles but they seem to attrackt the darn little things instead of scaring 'em off.

(- Now I have a good excuse to go to Symi again*LOL*)

Mille - like most other things these days, you can get these on the Internet - try Google search. You can even buy them on EBay, as you can see

Don't mock the poor gal those Scandinavian mozzies are as big as sparrows!!
I know exactly how you feel, Mille, I copped them in Sweden where they even have T-shirts saying you survived the mozzies.

Try brewers yeast tablets or real ale (not sure if you have this in Scandinavia- is it all that fizzy stuff?). Makes you smell repulsive to the mozzies so they don't bite! Seems to work for me anyway!

Vast quantities of tzatziki or skordalia helps as they don't seem to like garlic!

Mosquito- repellent

Hi Mille,
My wife swears by Avon Skin so Soft Dry Oil as a Mossie repellant when we are abroad and it also seems to work against the infamous Scottish Midges when we are at home, and as side effect it's good for the skin. As we can even get Avon products on Symi I would assume that they are readily available in Denmark 8-)

Yet another reason for Marmite being No. 1 on my packing list. Eat it or smear it on ... either way works.

Hi Mille,
I am surprised about Avon I thought they were a global brand :o Still you can always stock up next time you go to Symi, another excuse for going there just in case you need one ;) Michelle who works at Pat and Ali's is the Symi Avon lady. :)
