If he pops in again, Adriana, tell him that OG says "Hi" and hopes he has a great holiday. He is a very nice fellow. :)

Quite overcast here today so sunburn unlikely (see webcam!) and it actually rained for two minutes when I went to the kiosk for my Haribo fix...

It's a legacy from my early years in Germany, along with a liking for marzipan (especially marzipankartoffeln and Mozart kugeln) and a well-established fondness for beer, bratwurst and potato salad... :geek:

When my father was singing at Kiel Opera House I remember being taken to Copenhagen on the ferry at least once. As this predated my first spectacles it was something of a blur but I do remember potato salad featuring in that outing too, along with late summer night picnics on the shores of the Kiel canal :D

All my earliest recollections are connected with food... :o

Mille, I'd never upset anybody who likes marzipan and nouget sandwiches :( I bet you cure a hangover with a sardine milkshake. ;)

I've mellowed, Mille, a paragon of courtesy and tolerance.

Mozartkugeln are little marzipan, jelly and chocolate balls wrapped in foil with a picture of Mozart on the wrapping. Speciality of Salzburg, but they'd already crossed the border into Bavaria when I was doing my au pairing stint there - practically lived on them!

Marzipankartoffeln are little 'potatoes' made out of firm marzipan rolled in cocoa powder.

Can I ask where you were born?

Brighton, Sussex, because my father was singing at Glynbourne but I was only 6 weeks only when we left for Germany where we lived for the first 5 years of my life.
