BIG QUIZ!!

Postby Ozzie Geoff » 01 Oct 2006, 10:58

Hello Contestants, Before I give the question I want to point out that this went for 3 days before some bright spark (a lady with a broad Scottish accent) got it. Err, there is NO hidden clue there.Honest.

The Question: The biggest riot in popular music history occurred during the performance of which group?

Note I said "group" so before you toss me your Elvis, Johnny Ray etc remember its a group.
The period, lets say from 1935 to the present.
I doubt you would find it on the web unless you know exactly where to look.
More clues (lots of 'em) later. But, knowing you lot, somebody will pick it in one!! 8-)

Hmmmm. "Biggest riot in pop music history", "Not American or European"....

I know! You're thinking of that stampede for the exits during Rolf Harris' first live performance of "Two Little Boys".

Ah, but there's only one of him (phew) and you want a group

How about AC/DC?

Hee, hee :P
The riot was in America, but as I said was not an American gig, nor was it British or European....or Ozzie. :|

Now, here's a big clue....Most of us were not born when it occurred, at least I wasn't. Dunno about Benedetti.. 8-)

Another clue tomorrow, folks.

BIG QUIZ!!

Postby Ozzie Geoff » 04 Oct 2006, 10:13

Don't worry Trailer, I would not have guessed it in a coons age. :?:
Joanie you are warmer than you probably think!!

One person gave their answer as Mario Lanza and was told that she was very warm!! It got me thinking, but the old brain was not re-acting. Only when I heard the answer that the penny dropped. :D

Not much more I can tell you, we've ascertained:
Happened in America but not an American group/band.
Have sold in excess of 300 million records
Most of us were not born when the riot occurred...but we may have been twinkles in Dad's eyes.
It was a riot of adoration..just imagine all those young and non-so-young girls with their bobby socks and flatties and the guys in white jackets and pencil mo's, all dancing the jitter bug or whatever.

There...I've almost given it to you. :geek:

I agree with Trailer, it's a real stinker!

As for the timeline, how can it be after 1935 yet before OG was born? :P
