Missing Symi

Hey folks, just here in boringville and missing Symi bad ,its been only 3 months since we came back but it feels like 3 years  even my video is starting to fade from the amount of times i have played the tape.Even in winter Symi still looks inviting with all the people getting together with festivals ,over here all those Greek festivals have slowly dissapeared because of the rise in public liability insurance communities are forced to take to hold a street feat .So no one bothers anymore . :(

Ah, you old softie, Kon. :)
Add a buck to every haircut and you'll be back on Symi in no time.
Yes, it is sad that so many small social get-togethers have been stymied by liabilty insurance. Things like small groups meeting in a church hall, weddings in parks, small sporting groups even carol singing in shopping centres.
I blame the and ^%$@#* lawyers encouraging folk to "take legal action" against almost anything.
Pox on them.. :(

Remember my hero, Dick the Butcher, in Henry VI, 2.4.2:

"The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers"

Hope Andrew doesn't read this page.

Watching all those pickup trucks rattling over the mountain, a dozen or more people crammed into the back of each - 'elf 'n safety isn't gaining much of a hold here. :D

I don't know about Andrew, but I do! Though I'm the first to admit there are plenty of unscrupulous lawyers as well as scrupulous ones. :| :|

Missing Symi

Am i missing something...All my life I have heard my mother talk about symi....how old it was and with her and her family at war in symi. Now I am still in shock that there is even a website about this island which I have taken for granted. I went to greece in '88 and spent 2 hours in Symi....4 days in Rhodes and 5 weeks in Crete....when was Symi discovered by non Syminans??????????

Also 1980. It's very easy to get hooked on the place but I never take it for granted. Incidentally, this website shocks me as well sometimes.
