Help with music ??????

Postby Dave » 23 Apr 2007, 22:36

Lost two albums - well one album (disappeared from a friend's house whilst on loan) and one cassette which was chewed up in the machine.
Anyone got a copy or - as they're both deleted as far as I can tell - know anyone that can help ?
A complete cover version of The Beatles "Abbey Road" album on the Stax label by Booker T and the M.G.s called McElmore Avenue.
Spider Jiving by Andy Fairweather Lowe.

mnay thanks in advance for info/help

Wee Jimmy met Booker T when he took a year out to work as a cowboy in the USA. I tried to get him to come and see Brokeback Mountain with me but he didnae seem too keen.

Perhaps he's allergic to horses, Sis... Good Heavens, I appear to have acquired another "star" - and I haven't even been a good boy...

Help with music ??????

Postby Ozzie Geoff » 26 Apr 2007, 02:21

Gee whiz, Sorella, you and Wee Jimmy have had interesting lives. :geek:
Running a caff must be pretty banal for you, but as Father Time marches on I guess we have to put the "adventure cue" back in the rack, eh? :(

I digress...Booker T rings a big bell...what hits did he have? I guess I should just look at google...but, what the heck.

Help with music ??????

Time is tight, Soul Limbo and Green Onions are the only ones I can remember, wow just thinking about it sends me back in time to the good old days in Manchester when I was young and don't forget the appearance in the Blues Brothers. Happy days. Donald Duck Dunn, Al Jackson and Steve Cropper.

I rest my case

Help with music ??????

There was an interesting topic on BBC Breakfast this morning - songs where listeners had misheard words, with hilarious results. My most embarrassing one was the song "Can't Hurry Love" which I happily sang as "Cannery Love" - Romance in a tuna factory?

Help with music ??????

Quite right Adriana :) To quote an old phrase, "If you can't whistle it, it ain't music :) To quote Verdi's Macbeth: "Macbeth, Macbeth, Macbeth. MacDuff!" Now that's sweet music to the ears 8-)
